Specific Transition Planning for Military Families:

At Oscar Patterson Academy, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive transition support to military families, even as we work to expand from a K-3 school to a K-5. Our enrollment team, composed of the Registrar, Guidance Counselor, and Administrative staff, collaborates diligently to ensure a smooth transition for students and their families.

Principal Charlotte Blue, who serves as the Military Point of Contact, is readily available to assist military families with any questions or concerns as we continue to grow and serve more grade levels. She can be reached at (850) 767-1610

Specific Academic Planning for Military Families:

Our commitment to academic excellence extends to military families. As we expand to accommodate K-5, we understand the importance of individualized academic planning. Our team is ready to assess and adapt academic plans to meet the unique needs of military students.

Resources and Educational Opportunities for Military Children:

Oscar Patterson Academy instills a strong sense of community and patriotism, even as we expand our grade levels. Currently serving K-3, we are committed to creating a welcoming environment for all students. As we expand, our emphasis on respectful behavior, the importance of the flag, and a sense of belonging will remain.

We employ several veterans on our campus and we encourage all of our veterans to share their leadership and inspirational stories with our students.

Student-Led Transition Team:

Third-grade students, who currently lead as campus mentors, will continue to play a significant role in guiding and supporting military children as members of the student-led transition team.We are very proud of these students, the oldest students on our newly-opened campus, and the ways in which they have embraced these roles.

Support for Military ESE Children:

Our commitment to inclusive education remains steadfast. As we grow, we will ensure that the needs of military children with exceptional requirements are met, offering Self-Contained, Resource, and Inclusion settings. We will also continue to provide Speech & Language services, Occupational & Physical therapies, Social Skills groups, and ESE counseling.

Military Recognition Events:

Oscar Patterson Academy participates in a plethora of significant military recognition events, including Purple Up Day, Veterans Day celebrations, and other special ceremonies to honor our military community.

Access to Mental Health Services:

Our school offers comprehensive mental health services to military children through our dedicated on-campus mental health team. We also maintain a strong connection to the district mental health team for additional support when needed.
