Hello, my name is Charlotte Blue and I am the proud principal of Oscar Patterson Academy! Welcome to the Home of the Rockets. We are extremely excited that we are open to students, Kindergarten through fourth grade. Our school has been open for two years and we continue to add a grade level each year until we reach fifth grade. We also serve Pre-K students with disabilities and Autistic students through third grade. We are extremely happy to be serving our community! We look forward to re-establishing endearing, collaborative relationships with our parents, families, guardians, and all other stakeholders.
At Patterson we are passionate about three things:
1. Re-establishing excellence in education through an intense focus on academic excellence through intensive small group instruction and active engagement in ELA and Math.
2. Increase the rigor of the academic instruction through a deliberate focus on foundational skills, content vocabulary, comprehension, and writing by utilizing systematic and explicit instruction.
3. Improving classroom management by establishing clear rules, setting expectations, consistently reinforcing the expectations, and building relationships with students, families, and other stakeholders.
